Bayesian phylogenetics and macroevolution in RevBayes

RevBayes provides an interactive environment for statistical computation in phylogenetics. It is primarily intended for modelling, simulation, and Bayesian inference in evolutionary biology, particularly phylogenetics. However, the environment is quite general and can be useful for many complex modelling tasks.

Workshop presenter Tracy Heath, is part of the RevBayes core development team.

The program can also be shaped by participant interests - a list of RevBayes tutorials can be found here. If you are interested in the workshop, please submit an expression of interest (EOI) by 22 Feb, 2019.

Workshop materials and updates are available here. This page also has a list of recommended papers for reading and links to four phyloseminar lectures by Paul Lewis.

Participants will need to bring their laptops with RevBayes v1.0.10TracerFigTree and a simple text editor (such as Sublime Text, NotePad++, TextWrangler, BBEdit, vim, or emacs) installed.

Registration will close 18 March 2019.

Places are limited. The cost will be $45* to cover catering for morning and afternoon teas. Lunch will not provided however there are several small kitchens with fridges/microwaves near the workshop room, or the Little Pickle cafe in the Robertson Building and new Kambri precinct nearby.

The workshop will be held in the Evolution Brainstorming Lab C201, Level 2, Robertson Building, 46 Sullivans Creek Road, ANU. From the front automatic glass doors (the Little Pickle cafe will be on your right), head up the right hand ramp to the second floor and take the first corridor to your right. The workshop room is about half way down this corridor. Information on parking at ANU can be found here and a visitor parking map here.

*ANU participants please note: We have been advised by ANU Finance that ANU staff and students should not pay for ANU activities (which includes CBA events) using an ANU Purchase Card - you will need to request a journal transfer. Please use the Promotional Code 'ANU' at checkout (this will allow you to register without a credit card) and then email CoS Finance (or your relevant college Finance team) and ask them to do a journal transfer for your registration costs ($45) to the CBA's account (S415100201) from your chosen account.
