Genomic data is transforming how we study biodiversity, ecosystems, and agriculture, but analysing large datasets can be overwhelming, especially if you’re new to R or bioinformatics. That's where dartRverse comes in.

About

dartRverse: Harnessing the Force of R for Conservation Genomics

Workshop flyer

In a data-rich galaxy, far, far away… biodiversity is under siege. But a new Force rises to restore balance: the dartRverse.

Genomic data is transforming how we understand ecosystems, species, and agricultural diversity. But handling large SNP datasets can feel like navigating an asteroid field blindfolded.

That’s where dartRverse comes in, a powerful suite of open-source R packages that streamlines the entire journey, from raw data to insight. Built on a genlight-based workflow, dartR empowers you to:

  • Filter, analyse, and visualise SNP and presence/absence data
  • Access reproducible and accessible tools
  • Work without advanced coding skills (no need for Jedi mind tricks)

And yes! the dartR team just won the 2025 Eureka Prize for Excellence in Research Software. This is the way.

Led by the creators of dartR, this hands-on workshop is designed for ecologists, conservation biologists, early-career researchers and students,  and anyone ready to master population genetics in R. All content, including recordings, tutorials, and e-books, will be available to all participants, including online* rebels.

Workshop registration closes 16 February and has two parts:

* If you won’t be attending the workshop sessions live (due to time zone differences, etc.), please note this when you are registering to assist the presenters.

** If you previously completed the pre-course survey for the postponed 2025 workshop there is no need to fill it in again - the dartR team have your responses.
