SNP Happens: Explore Population Genetics with the dartRverse
Genomic data is transforming how we study biodiversity, ecosystems, and agriculture, but analysing large datasets can be overwhelming, especially if you’re new to R or bioinformatics. To make this easier, the dartR team created the dartRverse, an open-source suite of R packages that streamlines population genetic analyses of SNP and presence/absence markers.
With its intuitive genlight-based workflow, dartR takes you from raw data to filtering, analysis, and visualisation—no advanced coding required. And we're excited to announce that the dartR team has just won the 2025 Eureka Prize for Excellence in Research Software!
The award-winning dartR team are now hosting a hands-on workshop on population genetics in R using the dartRverse. Aimed at ecologists, conservation biologists, and early-career researchers, this workshop will provide practical training with accessible, reproducible tools.
Workshop registration closes 3rd November and has two parts:
- a pre-course survey to help the team tailor the workshop to your experience and interests; and
