***Workshop postponed***

Update: this workshop has been postponed until Feb/Mar 2026. New event and registration pages will be available when dates are finalised. The 2026 course content will be similar to the workshop advertised this year but with more sessions with the event extended to five days. The course will be both in-person in Canberra and online with all recordings, tutorials, e-books, etc. made available to registered participants. Please fill in the pre-course survey to stay up to date with the dartR team's plans and help them tailor the workshop.

SNP Happens: Explore Population Genetics with the dartRverse

Genomic data is transforming how we study biodiversity, ecosystems, and agriculture, but analysing large datasets can be overwhelming, especially if you’re new to R or bioinformatics. To make this easier, the dartR team created the dartRverse, an open-source suite of R packages that streamlines population genetic analyses of SNP and presence/absence markers.

With its intuitive genlight-based workflow, dartR takes you from raw data to filtering, analysis, and visualisation—no advanced coding required. And we're excited to announce that the dartR team has just won the 2025 Eureka Prize for Excellence in Research Software

The award-winning dartR team are now hosting a hands-on workshop on population genetics in R using the dartRverse. Aimed at ecologists, conservation biologists, and early-career researchers, this workshop will provide practical training with accessible, reproducible tools.

Workshop registration closes 3rd November and has two parts:

* The online registration option will give you full access to all the workshop content including recordings. If you won’t be attending the sessions live (due to time zone differences, etc.), please note this when you are registering to assist the presenters.
