CBA PhD student Josh Penalba, whose research focuses on the genomic evolution of wrens, has had his science communicated in a unique way - as a vibrant street art mural.

Painted during National Science Week, Josh's mural was part of Co-Lab's Science Meets Street Art which brought together street artists and early career scientists to collaborate one-on-one and conceptualise artworks based on the scientists’ research and discoveries.

The public were invited to watch as these artworks were created and read the descriptions written by the scientists. The scientists involved were also on hand to answer questions as their science-inspired street art took shape.
