Description

This Friday we will practice mixed models again. We will finally play with random interactions and correlated random effects (like those used in genetic, phylogenetic or spatial models). That may sound scary, but fear not, the basic ideas are intuitive and the implementation doesn't need much code at all!
You don't need to have attended the previous mixed model workshops to follow this one; I will cover independent aspects from scratch and provide exercises for all levels.
The material is ready to download. We will use the packages lme4 and MCMCglmm. It would be great if you can have them installed before the workshop.
The goal of these workshops (held regularly at the Research School of Biology, ANU) is to provide a deeper understanding of statistics and proficiency in R. They are aimed at Honours, Masters and early PhD students, but everyone is welcome. The course material from previous sessions are available here. Please email Timothée Bonnet if you would like to be added to the workshop mailing list.
