Meta-analysis & systematic reviews for beginners

This informal mini-workshop is intended for those starting or considering a meta-analytic project. I will provide a quick overview of the systematic review and meta-analytic process. The focus will be on the most common traps you may encounter and ways to avoid them.

The interactive presentation will be followed by a short exercise and a Q&A session. For example, you may want to ask: “what is a good question for a meta-analysis?, “how many studies do I need for a meta-analysis?”, “what are the alternatives to a formal meta-analysis?”, “how long will it take?”, “how to do it quicker?”, “who and how many people should be involved?”, “how to organise the workflow?”, “how to visualise the results?”.

I do not promise to answer every possible question, but we can certainly have a good discussion.
