Description

The Genome Discovery Unit (GDU) is running a five day course (12, 14, 16, 19 & 21 August, 9:00-17:00) presented by John MainDonald, a consultant and author of a well-regarded book on using R.
R is a free software programming language and software environment for statistical computing and graphics. John’s course will work on concepts and understanding that are important for the use of R in the context of data exploration and analysis. Topics covered will include: the installation of R and of key packages including the Bioconductor packages; the use of the RStudio Interactive Display Environment; data input and output and data management; R data structures; the different types of R functions; classes of R objects and methods; and introduction to R graphics.
