Description

This week’s reading group will be led by Armin Moczek (Indiana University) and will be an introduction into the Extended Evolutionary Synthesis (EES), as well as an introduction to the following reading groups, how they will work and their main objectives.
Following from tomorrow’s discussion, there will be four, fortnightly, Extended Evolutionary Synthesis Reading Groups, each with a different theme.
Armin is currently visiting ANU and CSIRO on sabbatical and is one of the co-developers of the EES, a topic of significant discussion amongst evolutionary biologists.
Please read the Nature paper Does evolutionary theory need a rethink? by Laland, et al. 2014. It provides a great background into the EES that will be important for the discussions.
All welcome.
