Muir, C.D. (2015). Making pore choices: repeated regime shifts in stomatal ratio. Proceedings of the Royal Society of London B: Biological Sciences, 282, doi: 10.1098/rspb.2015.1498.

…tests selection hypotheses about why different plants have different leaf stomatal distributions.  The author applies some very nice trait modelling and the paper is well written…but does the result accurately reflect the biology of different lineages?
