This week we will discuss a paper on the Eocene obduction of New Caledonia, and the controversy on whether any flora survived in situ (whatever that means), with a focus on the high extant conifer diversity on that island.

Discussion will be led by Sarah Mathews (Herbarium, CSIRO) - thanks, Sarah.

Condamine FL, Leslie AB, Antonelli A. 2016. Ancient islands acted as refugia and pumps for conifer diversity. Cladistics: online early.

Coopers and Cladistics is a long-running evolutionary biology discussion group held every second Thursday at University House, ANU. Please contact Mike Crisp if you would like to be included on the C&C email list.
