Description

This is will be the last C&C meeting for 2017.
Sadly, one of our stalwarts, Colin Groves, passed away recently. So, I am suggesting that we discuss one of his favourite topics - species concepts in relation to conservation. It’s probably no concidence that he has just published a paper on this topic:
Groves, C.P. et al. 2017. Species definitions and conservation: a review and case studies from African mammals. Conservation Genetics 18: 1247-1256.
For a contrary view, there is a short letter to IUCN by Frankham, R. et al. (2013) to the Chairs of IUCN Specialist Groups and IUCN Officials.
Meet in the Forrest Room, Fellows Bar, University House.
Coopers and Cladistics is a long-running evolutionary biology discussion group held every second Thursday at University House, ANU. Please contact Mike Crisp if you would like to be included on the C&C email list.
Location
University House, 1 Balmain Cres, Acton
