Description

The 13th Annual AMATA Conference, will be held at the Marriott Surfers Paradise 13-16 October 2013. There is an exciting program planned, with a special invitation extended to early career researchers to participate in a hands-on genome-analysis workshop and career mentoring sessions (12-13 October 2013).
The Australasian Genomics Technology Association (AMATA) conference is Australia's foremost genomic technology conference, providing an essential networking event for researchers working towards early adoption of new 'omics platforms and methodologies, including platform development; and applying these towards understanding genome regulation and output across a range of disciplines, such as ecological systems, microbes, model organisms and medicine. The conference offers an important opportunity for computational biologists, biostatisticians, bioinformaticians and data visualisation specialists to interact with technologists and biologists. This unique mix is one of the reasons that the Australian genomics community has a dynamic cross-disciplinary and innovative approach to genomic analysis, and is at the forefront of analysis tools for new types of 'omics data.
This year the conference has themes across single-cell analysis; new platform technologies; clinical genomics; data integration, analysis and visualisation; metagenomics; and the intersection of genetics and genomics through the integration of population variation using network approaches. We have an exciting line-up of national and international speakers, and an innovative program designed to maximise networking opportunities with our community leaders across academia and industry.
