The Centre for Biodiversity Analysis is pleased to announce the 2026 rounds of EMCR Training Support and Visiting Scientist funding are now open.
The aim of this funding is to enhance collaboration, networking and training opportunities for biodiversity scientists and students at the ANU, CSIRO and University of Canberra, and beyond.
Our other major CBA initiative, the Australian Biodiversity Discovery Facility, also welcomes the opportunity to apply the DiversityScanner imaging, robotics, genomics and AI pipelines to research and monitoring projects. Please get in touch with megan.head@anu.edu.au to discuss invertebrate imaging, sequencing, bioinformatics, training and co-designed projects.
Thank you to our CBA community who proposed, attended and participated in our diverse offering of events in 2025:
- Lab tours: Australian Biodiversity Discovery Facility
- Seminar: Unlocking the power of amplification in Long-Read Sequencing
- Symposium: Climate and Biodiversity Futures
- Workshop: Complete and accurate annotation of troublesome gene regions
- Workshop: Conservation and the genomics of populations
- Seminar: What does effective population size tell us about loss of allelic variation?
- Symposium: Right-way science approach to understanding impacts of climate change on plants
- Symposium: CBA Showcase
- Seminar: What Editors Want: Demystifying the Publication Process in Ecology
- Symposium: Integrating mechanistic models and individual-based data to predict population dynamics in a changing world
- Workshop: Introduction to molecular lab fundamentals
- Symposium: Bogong Moth Summit: uniting people, place and purpose for conservation
- Seminar: Threading links between the silk genotype and phenotype in caddisflies, nature’s underwater architects
- Workshop: Sequencing, assembling, and annotating genomes with PacBio HiFi data
