Location & facilities

The CBA is in a unique location with world-class biological research facilities based in Canberra at the ANU, University of Canberra and CSIRO Black Mountain laboratories, and the other national CSIRO collections outside Canberra.

The Centre is administered from the Research School of Biology, ANU.

Canberra is Australia’s capital city with a population of ~400,000. It is 150km from Australia's east coast with an elevation of ~580m. The city's design incorporates significant areas of remnant native vegetation (grassland and woodland) that has earned Canberra the title 'the bush capital'.

ANU and CSIRO are adjacent to each other at the base of Black Mountain in Canberra
